Below are twelve examples of a few selected often controversial movements throughout history that have grown from the principles of non-violence, simplicity and the courage of people willing to lay down their lives for truth, justice and love for humanity.
Like all people, these movements have had their faults, but are real life examples of the triumph of good over the violent forces of powerful and corrupt authorities even through persecution and suffering.
