Subject: More implosion thoughts, from Alf

Alf writing.

It's interesting that Jesse wrote: "Why not start getting serious about it now?"  I had a listening time this evening and asked God when he wanted us to go underground".  I got the word "Now" straight away.

I also received the words "counter-productive".  Initially, I thought God may be saying that our implosion may work against ourselves.  However, when I prayed about it further I felt God was getting me to look at that phrase in a different way - namely, that by decreasing our production (e.g. on the forum, CO's, distributing or whatever, which is likely to happen the less we use money), it may lead to us being more fruitful, spiritually.  When I shared about this here this evening, Chris seemed to share my thoughts about what God may be saying, backed up by something she had experienced today.

I can understand Dave's concern over some of the reasons and responses people have given to some of the issues that have been raised.  I am also in favour of us imploding sooner rather than later, especially in light of this leading (and the leading Alan received about us needing to leave the comforts of the sheep pen quickly).  I would be in favour of us stopping posting on the forum and website (i.e. not upload new articles etc.).  However, one idea that we raised here this evening is to keep the forum and website running, but to lock the threads so that people can't post on there.  What I like about this idea is that there is more than enough evidence through the articles, news updates and various threads to dispel any lies directed towards us.  I do feel though that the trolls and new members who come along usually repeat previous accusations or points, so we end up going over old ground, which can dilute the truth in some ways, as people have to wade through more and more information in order to find the facts.

I sent off the bulk NL today and the regular (English) NL has gone out to most of the mailing list.  The idea was raised here this evening (in Kenya) that we finish sending the NL to the remainder of the list, but then stop sending newsletters, at least to people whom we have not seriously vetted beforehand.

The idea was also raised of us disappearing for a certain amount of time (e.g. 6 months), although I have been feeling lately that God may want us to "head off into the unknown" for as long as he deems necessary, possibly without turning back.  I will continue to remain open about this point.

In the newsletter we suggested that any interested persons can write to the uklisteners email address in order to obtain a copy of our new DVD.  I would suggest that we suss people out first before sending them a copy.  I believe it's time for people to have to work much harder to prove that we can trust them.  I think this new approach could generate more interest and a lot more wisdom on our part, with regard to who, when and how much of the truth we share with people.  Just as a light shines brightest in the darkness, a silent, yet dedicated witness, can speak volumes.  I realise that there is a time and a place to speak out though, and we need to continue praying for clarity about when those times are.  In the meantime, we also have a lot of lit to get out to people, which it would be good to do responsibly.

I was also disappointed hearing certain comments made (e.g. by Fran) directed towards the leadership's previous counsel re. our approach to things like freeganism and the media.  As KC pointed out, just because we may have changed course, does not mean that God did not want us to tread the path we have done until now.  I feel confident that we have tried to find God's will throughout this process.  The question is, can we remain flexible and united, when dealing with radical changes?  I sincerely hope so and I believe there is a lot more chance of this happening if each member of our community thinks through these issues rationally and sincerely, while making time to listen to God.

Love, Alf
